Kia: How to recognize the current Ceed
THE way you want it The five-door Kia Ceed, the Sportswagon and the popular ProCeed Shooting Brake are getting a new look. The front bumper has been redesigned to look more dynamic. The tiger-nose radiator grille is emphasized more strongly by two satin-finished bars instead of a frame, and the lower air intake also grows significantly.
The black contrasting details on the bumper corners extend in a curved line to the wheel arches. On the GT Line versions (see gallery) and the GT versions as well as the plug-in hybrid, the side air intakes are larger than on the rest of the model range.
Taillights with unusual honeycomb design
The Kia Ceed Sportswon Plug-in Hybrid has a closed grille, while the sporty top model GT can still be identified by red inserts.
At the rear, the Ceed five-door as GT Line and GT features new taillights with an unusual honeycomb design. A modified apron shows new design details, which also applies to the ProCeed and Ceed SW.
Active braking intervention of the blind spot warning system
The Kia Ceed also offers additional driving assistants. If the car is equipped with a dual-clutch transmission, a highway assistant can brake to a standstill and start up again, in addition to holding the lane.
The adaptive cruise control system takes data from the navigation system and thus adjusts the speed, for example before curves or before speed limits.
Another new feature is the active braking intervention of the blind spot warning system to avoid possible collisions. If the system detects approaching traffic, it also warns when a rear door is opened.
Comprehensive range of drive variants
The new Ceed family offers a comprehensive range of powertrain configurations, including a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and various mild hybrid (MHEV) powertrains ranging from 100 to 204 horsepower.
Buyers can also opt for a 1.0- or 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, both equipped with Kia's Smartstream technology.
