Extreme driving pleasure and performance are also typical of the all-electric John Cooper Works models.

The systematic expansion of electromobility and additional opportunities to experience the typical driving pleasure of the models are at the heart of the realignment for the model program.

Mini's future vehicle architectures will make it possible to achieve extreme driving pleasure and consistent performance-oriented characteristics not exclusively with combustion engines, but also with electrified drives.

Concepts for purely electric drive systems
With the plug-in hybrid model Mini Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 alone, vehicles with electrified drive systems already accounted for five percent of all new registrations for the brand.

Following the successful sales launch of the all-electric Mini Cooper SE, this figure doubled to around ten percent within a few months. With this experience, Mini is now preparing to develop John Cooper Works models with electrified drive as a further step.

Combination of driving fun and electromobility

Bernd Körber, Head of the Mini brand: "With the Electric, we have shown how well driving pleasure and electromobility go together. Now it's time to transfer the performance character of the John Cooper Works brand to electromobility as well. That's why we are working very intensively on concepts for John Cooper Works models with electrified drive systems."

John Cooper Works
The focus on electrified powertrains is intended to raise the profile of John Cooper Works even further.

Combustion engine for performance-oriented fans
John Cooper Works models with conventional combustion engines will continue to play an important role in parallel to meet the wishes and needs of performance-oriented fans around the world.

The new focus on electrified performance is intended to create the opportunity to sharpen the independent profile of the John Cooper Works brand even more strongly than before.
