In its fourth generation, it rolls out as Sport, Sahara and Rubicon with outstanding off-road properties, but also as a substitute for a trip into the city. Prices start at 54,900 Swiss francs. The round headlights and the radiator grille with its seven vents are among the typical features of the new model, as are the wheel arches and door hinges and the folding windshield.
Underride guardelements against damage
The latest edition is again based on a frame structure, and sensitive components such as the automatic transmission, oil pan, tank and transfer case are protected from damage by underride guards. In Switzerland, either a 2.2-liter turbo diesel (450 Nm, 200 hp) or a 2-liter turbo gasoline engine (400 Nm, 270 hp) is available. Both engines are always combined with an eight-speed torque converter automatic. Two 4×4 systems ensure optimum grip: Command-Trac for the Sport and Sahara versions, Rock-Trac for the Rubicon. Both systems are equipped with the two-stage Selec-Trac transfer case.
