This not only enables Jeep to respond more quickly to the needs of European customers. Thanks to the additional production site, delivery times from the factory are significantly shorter.
Four-cylinder turbo with up to 150 hp
With the start of production in Melfi, the Compass is also available for the first time with a new 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbo petrol engine in the 130 and 150 hp power levels in combination with a six-speed manual gearbox or an automatic dual-clutch transmission DDCT.
The new 1.3 Turbo petrol engine reduces CO2 emissions by up to 27 percent (according to the WLTP cycle), and by up to 30 percent compared to the previous 4×4 petrol models with automatic transmission.
Cornering at high speed
Handling and responsiveness benefit from new tuning for the steering system, suspension and damping. Shock absorbers with FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) valves limit body movements without compromising comfort on uneven surfaces.
The Italo-Compass is designed to offer greater precision when cornering at high speed, as well as less rolling and pitching movements and greater braking stability.
Sport driving mode as an option for the first time
In combination with the 1.3 GSE engine and DDCT automatic transmission, the Jeep Compass also has a sports driving mode for the first time, which can be selected at the touch of a button.
In this mode, the steering is tightened, the throttle response is sharpened and the gearshift characteristics of the transmission are adapted to maximize power and torque.
The maximum torque is 270 Newton meters (up to 40 Newton meters more than the previous 1.4-litre petrol engine).
All-wheel drive, plug-in hybrid and 4xe technology
The Compass is available as a Night Eagle (from 27,990 francs, Limited (from 39,900 francs), S (from 43,800 francs) or Trailhawk (from 44,900 francs).
Four-wheel drive versions will be available in the second half of this year in combination with the new plug-in hybrid models and the electrified 4xe variant.
