Jaguar: XKSS for selected customers of the brand

Jaguar revives the XKSS. In February 1957, a fire at the Browns Lane plant destroyed a total of 270 cars. Jaguar XKSS: The original version of the 230 km/h fast bolide was intended for export to the USA, but only 16 vehicles were completed before the fire broke out.

 

The XKSS, hand-built at Jaguar Classic according to original plans, are now to close the gap in the brand's history. With identical specifications to the original, they will go to selected customers and collectors at prices of around one million pounds from the beginning of next year. The experience gained by Jaguar Classic in rebuilding six true-to-the-original 2014/2015 E-Type Lightweights is now also being incorporated into the nine XKSSs, which have sequential chassis numbers.

The required modifications include a taller windshield with a solid chrome frame, side windows, a second door on the passenger side, front and rear bumpers, modified headlights and taillights, removal of the divider between the driver and passenger, and the D-Type's iconic tail fin.
