Touch-ups at the front and a completely new rear, a lower roofline and balanced proportions are the striking visual features of the fastback. The engines on offer are a three-cylinder turbo unit with 88 kW (120 hp) and an equally turbocharged four-cylinder with 103 kW (140 hp) output.
Sporty proportions
Compared with the compact five-door model, the height has been reduced by three centimeters to just under 1.43 meters, while the length has increased by an impressive 11.5 centimeters to around 4.46 meters. At the same time, the body was lowered by five millimeters.
The cascade radiator grille, the distinguishing feature of the Hyundai models since the introduction of the new i30 generation, is flatter than on the other two model versions. LED daytime running lights and headlights with black trim are further distinguishing features. At the rear, an integrated rear spoiler between the redesigned taillights ensures a striking appearance.
A role model in safety
Like all other i30 models, the All-New i30 Fastback will be offered with numerous assistance systems and, according to Hyundai, "offer the most comprehensive active safety equipment in the C-segment." Up to nine assistance systems are on offer for the range. These include autonomous emergency brake assist with front collision warning and pedestrian detection, active lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with distance control, attention assist, blind spot assist, high beam assist, traffic sign recognition and rear cross-traffic alert. The new i30 model range was awarded five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test.
