Hyundai presents the third generation of its small city model i10 at the IAA in Frankfurt.

Hyundai
The system output of the new Kona hybrid is 141 hp, and maximum torque is 265 Nm.

The All-New Kona hybrid complements the previous gasoline and diesel engines, as well as the all-electric model. The powertrain combines the Kappa 1.6 Atkinson GDi, which produces 105 hp, with a 32 kW (45 hp) permanent magnet electric motor. This is supplied with power via a 1.56-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery.

Perfect navigation system
The system output of 141 hp, the maximum torque of 265 Nm and the gearshifts of the standard 6-speed dual-clutch transmission make the five-door model a pleasant touring car that is easy on the budget and nerves in equal measure. The powertrain is refined. A great deal of work has gone into the development here.

The navigation system installed in the Ioniq is simply top-notch and a blessing. The information is accurate to the meter and a friendly voice tells you in good time (!) when to turn.

The list price starts at 31,900 francs. There is a premium of 2500 francs in September.

Hyundai
The headlights and daytime running lights of the Ioniq now look sportier and more modern. The car fits in with the times.

Drive, save and enjoy
The permanent magnet synchronous motor of the New Ioniq electric has been revised and now delivers a maximum output of 100 kW (136 hp) with a maximum torque of 295 Nm. The capacity of the high-voltage battery has been increased to 38.3 kWh. These additional 10 kWh help to achieve a greater range of 294 kilometers.

The Ioniq in motion is a pleasure. The injection of power has really done the car good. Nimble sprints are a real joy. So much for electric cars being passionless - this Korean proves the opposite.

You quickly feel at home inside. The colors are just right and the information next to the aforementioned navigation system is supplemented with precise details about where the next charging station is located. That's how it should be.

The list price calls for 40,990 francs, and in September there is an additional premium of 2000 francs.

Hyundai
The i10 offers enough space for four people. Some luggage also fits in the trunk.

The smallest shows more character
The i10 has a much more striking design, particularly at the front. Among other things, the Hyundai i10 comes with lane departure warning, attention, high beam and emergency brake assist as well as the E-Call automatic emergency call system.

Options include Hyundai's proprietary Bluelink telematics system, consisting of an 8-inch navigation system including Live Services and smartphone connectivity.

Sporty city runabout from Korea
With the i10 N Line, the Koreans are also presenting a version trimmed for dynamics. In addition to attractive design and trim elements, the sporty equipment package includes above all the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 100 hp that is exclusive to this version.

The i10 N Line will go on sale in summer 2020. The basic version of the i10 will be available in Switzerland from the beginning of next year. Swiss prices and equipment are not yet known.
