The Hyundai Kona N will certainly have a more striking appearance than the tamer variants of the range.

The Kona N will be available with the wet-running 8-speed N DCT dual-clutch transmission. Combined with the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and front-wheel drive, it should offer a driving experience that combines high performance with agility and maneuverability. 280 hp and 392 Nm of torque will do the trick.

Like previous N models, the Kona N will be equipped with performance features like Launch Control and an emotional sound experience.

Sights set on next level with the Kona N
Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, Vice President of Marketing & Product Hyundai Motor Europe: "We are now applying the successful recipe of the i30 N and the recently launched i20 N to the SUV segment. With the Kona N, we are taking our high-performance N brand to the next level."

Driving pleasure in different categories
Following the launch with the i30 N (pictured right), Hyundai is expanding its range of high-performance models in the coming year. By diversifying into other segments, such as with the i20 N and Kona N, Hyundai aims to appeal to customers in a wide range of vehicle categories who are looking for an affordable vehicle that promises maximum driving pleasure

First SUV from the Koreans with an N-label
Till Wartenberg, Vice President and Head of N Brand Management and Motorsport Sub-division of Hyundai Motor Company: "With this model, we are bringing the first SUV with the N label. It combines the versatility with the driving pleasure that our N models are already known for. N enthusiasts will have fun with this vehicle - on the road as well as on the race track."

Distinctive front splitter and trim elements
What exactly changes in the appearance is not yet visible because of the camouflage. What is clear is that the N is likely to appear more brute than the tamer Kona variants; with a much more pronounced front splitter, blackened trim elements and the dual-flow sports exhaust system. The final product will likely get a completely redesigned i30 N-inspired rear apron with a wide diffuser. One can be curious.
