The Hyundai i10, which is just under 3.70 meters long, is available exclusively with four doors and a tailgate.

Compact class models - preferably SUVs - are still at the top of the wish list of Swiss customers. However, those who mainly drive in urban traffic appreciate the advantages of an even smaller vehicle.

The 3-D honeycomb pattern is also found in the dashboard and door panels of the Korean.

Comfort and assistance systems
With its short wheelbase of 2.45 meters and length of just 3.67 meters, the Hyundai i10 runs little risk of damaging bumpers or aluminum rims in parking garages. It no longer has to do without the comfort of driver assistance systems. And for journeys over not too far distances, the small car even offers room for five people.

The i10N delivers a torquey 100 hp
In urban traffic, where the new i10 shows its strengths, there is no need for huge engine power. With a three- or four-cylinder engine, the small car delivers 67 and 84 hp respectively from 1.0 and 1.2 liters of displacement. And this is enough to move it nimbly and safely in any situation.

If optimum performance is required on uphill gradients or for overtaking, the gears have to be changed. With five gears each in the manual or optional automated transmission, this is no problem. For more hurried small car users, however, it is advisable to wait for the 100 hp i10 N Line version, which will be available in the summer.

The luggage compartment can be expanded from 252 to 1050 liters by folding the rear seat backrests forward.

Apple Carplay and Android Auto
Apart from the pleasing body, the newcomer developed and built in Europe trumps with equipment details that are far from being standard in its class. Navi and the usual other functions can be controlled easily and quickly on the 8-inch touchscreen. Apple Carplay and Android Auto integrate smartphones. In the Launch Plus version, phones can even be charged wirelessly.

A rearview camera improves visibility to the rear. The steering wheel and seats are heated, and the Smartsense safety systems ensure accident-free journeys with lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, and high-beam and attention assist.

In terms of price, the i10, which is available in three trim levels and with three wheel diameters ranging from 14 to 16 inches, is priced between 12,990 (1.0 MT Pica) and 22,190 Swiss francs (1.2 AMT5 Launch Plus).
