Hypercars: These models show the future 🎥

DESIGN As part of the Formula 1 GP in Miami, the Italian companies Laffitte Automobili and GFG Style presented very special hypercars for the road, race track or off-road detour.

Founded by the nephews of former Formula One driver Jacques Laffite, Bruno Laffite and Pascal Cohen, the company is already attracting attention from the automotive market. Rather than opting for a gradual rollout with new models unveiled over months or years, Laffite announced three basic ranges designed by GFG Style, the company owned by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro.

The Atrax is intended for operation on the road or driving over rough and smooth.

Unified family face

All vehicles are fully electric high-performance models. The LM1 is a race car that will also be road legal, the Barchetta is a supercar for everyday use, and the Atrax is an off-road crossover coupe. All models should be recognizable at first glance as representatives of Laffitte's new hypercar families.

It is important to the designers that the different models with related front-end design elements present a uniform family face. The same applies to the interior: The interior in all model series embodies a mixture of road sports car and racing racer.

Aerodynamics improvement

Atrax and Atrax Stradale (gallery above) are SUV-like models with a 2+1 seating arrangement for on-road operation or driving over rough and smooth. An eye-catching design feature is the freestanding A- and B-pillars, which help improve aerodynamics. Typical for off-roaders are the wide, trapezoidal plastic wheel arches.

Single front window and carbon roof

Barchetta and Barchetta Coupé (gallery below left and center) appear as dynamically and extremely exotically shaped supercars. With its two separate windshields, the Barchetta is reminiscent of an idea by Giugiaro's father in 1959, which was later also realized in the Aztec prototype. The coupe keeps the driver and front passenger dry with a single windshield and carbon roof. As with the Cabriolet, the special roof bars in the Coupé are a particular design attraction.

Long-distance racer for the road

The LM1 (gallery below right) is a road-going car in the style of endurance racers. Aerodynamically designed bodywork elements also characterize the styling of this model. According to Laffite Automobili, the LM1's powertrain will deliver a massive 1151 hp and 1180 Nm of torque, which should make it possible to sprint from zero to just under 100 km/h (62 mph) in 1.9 seconds. One can be curious.
