The new Volkswagen up! GTI small car with the famous GTI genes is now available to order in Switzerland.

The popular small car with the characteristic GTI features is available to order now. Prices start from 19,850 Swiss francs.

Sporty, sporty!
The abbreviation "GTI" has merged with the Volkswagen brand and is considered the world's best-known designation for sporty compact cars. The new up! GTI - which is similar in size on the outside and inside to the original GTI from 1976 - is powered by a turbocharged engine (TSI) with a powerful 200 Nm of torque and 85KW/115 hp. With GTI power, it reaches a top speed of 196 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds (all factory figures).

Recognition value
The most powerful up! can be identified by the typical GTI features on the interior and exterior. At the front, for example, there is a red horizontal stripe in the radiator grille with a honeycomb pattern. The GTI logo is incorporated above it. At the side, there are the black double horizontal stripes above the wide side sill covers. Then there are the exterior mirror caps painted in high-gloss black.

Also the tail
GTI features also characterize the rear: Here, among other things, it is also a red stripe and a larger roof spoiler that ensures higher downforce on the rear axle and thus, according to the supplier, optimized driving characteristics. In the interior, features such as the sports leather steering wheel, a GTI gearshift knob and the legendary "Clark" seat pattern are among the typical features.

New test method
With the up! GTI, Volkswagen is launching the first model to be certified in accordance with the new WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicles Test Procedure). This means that in future, in addition to the currently mandatory consumption figures according to NEDC (New European Driving Cycle), the more practical WLTP values will also be available. WLTP consumption (prov.) of 5.7 to 5.6 l/100 km combined was determined for the up! GTI.
