It has long had the public's attention virtually, and now the Jaguar I-Pace will make its debut in reality next week at the Geneva Motor Show (March 8-18, 2018). Many have been eagerly awaiting the I-Pace, which not only has zero emissions, but also combines sports car performance with the practicality of a five-seater SUV and artificial intelligence. On the technology: a 90kWh lithium-ion battery with 432 pouch cells helps the I-Pace achieve a range of 480 kilometers (in the WLTP cycle). At a 100 kW DC fast-charging station, the battery is 80 percent full again in 40 minutes.
Acceleration like a sports car
Two electric motors developed by Jaguar Land Rover are integrated into the front and rear axles. They deliver exceptionally powerful acceleration from a standing start and all-wheel traction on all road surfaces. The high torque, which can be called up from the first meter, enables sports car-like acceleration figures - the I-Pace can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in just 4.8 seconds.
Plenty of space for all occupants and their luggage
Although its exterior dimensions classify it as a mid-size SUV, the I-Pace offers the space of a large SUV thanks to its cab forward design and space-saving electric drive. There is 890 millimeters of legroom in the rear seat, and the lack of a transmission tunnel results in a 10.5-liter storage compartment in the center console. In addition, there are storage compartments under the rear seats, for example for an iPad or laptop. The trunk volume can be expanded from 656 to 1453 liters by folding the rear seat backs.
Several equipment levels at the sales launch
Jaguar opened the order books yesterday. Prices start at 83,500 Swiss francs. In addition to a First Edition, the first all-electric Jaguar is available in S, SE and HSE trim levels.
