Genesis: With the Coupé in the direction of Sport
ATHLETIC Genesis is presenting the GV80 Coupé Concept study as a world premiere in New York. The four-seater concept car plays with contrasts and opposites, demonstrating the design philosophy of Athletic Elegance.
Inspired by the X Speedium Coupé Concept unveiled last year, the GV80 Coupé Concept aims to combine the practicality of an SUV with the dynamism of a sports car. The GV80 Coupé Concept features the brand's signature Crest grille with two superimposed G-matrix patterns. Quad lights ensure excellent visibility and visibility with hundreds of small micro-optical lenses per unit, and a four-part air intake integrated into the bumper optimizes cooling.
Alloy wheels and carbon roof
The Genesis rear-wheel drive platform enables a long hood and generous proportions with an elegant coupe silhouette. Forged 5-spoke alloy wheels and the carbon roof underscore the sporty character of the GV80 Coupé Concept.
At the rear, a roof spoiler and a small spoiler lip on the duck tail optimize the aerodynamics. Finally, the continuous taillights complete the brand-typical 2-line design. The exterior color magma makes a bold impression.
Performance and dynamics
In the interior, the concept is implemented by the beauty of white space with sporty attributes. Four sports seats provide good lateral support, ensuring maximum comfort. In addition, the structural rigidity of the body is reinforced by a G-Matrix strut brace behind the bucket seats.
Design chief Luc Donckerwolke: "In the beginning, Genesis developed luxurious sedans such as the G70, G80 and G90 models. Now we want to further strengthen the performance and dynamics of Genesis with even more emotional vehicles."
