Genesis: Large coupé as a vision of the future
TODAY AND THE FUTURE In New York's Meatpacking District, Genesis unveiled the X Speedium Coupé concept car. The model embodies the brand DNA and gives a preview of the next EV generation.
The Genesis Study X Speedium Coupé is the result of a design exercise inspired by the Genesis X Concept and led by chief designer Luc Donckerwolke. The model interprets the timeless design philosophy Athletic Elegance in a new way. The name of the car was derived from the Korean race track Inje Speedium.
Transformation to an all-electric car brand
The creative team followed the principle of reduced design for the X Speedium Coupé. The coupé impresses with its restrained elegance, clean lines and discreet curves. It is not a concept car in the conventional sense, previewing a production model.
Luc Donckerwolke: "This car is a milestone for Genesis on the way to designing future electric vehicles. The X Speedium coupe shows a fresh face that symbolizes Genesis' transformation into an all-electric car brand that will offer six EV models by 2030."
Genesis House as an experience center
Genesis House in New York opened in November 2021 as the brand's experience center in the US. Covering 4340 square meters and three floors, it embodies the spirit of the brand by welcoming visitors in a friendly manner.
The restaurant was created in collaboration with Michelin-starred restaurant Onjium and a research center for traditional culture in Seoul. The outdoor terrace and adjoining garden offer guests spectacular views of the High Line, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hudson River and Little Island Park.
