The GV60, Genesis' second electric car, is on its own all-electric platform.
The Genesis brand's second electric car is based on a proprietary all-electric platform called E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform), signaling the brand's move toward electrification.
The GV60, which is a good 4.60 meters long, is positioned below the GV70e. Above all, the rounded shapes resemble the design of the Kia as the angular Hyundai Ioniq 5, the third model based on E-GMP.
Protection of the body with gray components
In the first pictures, the Genesis looks a bit stockier than the Kia at the side, but also much sportier at the rear. The coupe-like shape of the C-pillar with the striking chrome spikes contributes to this, as does the black spoiler at the rear.
Like the headlights, the taillights are divided into an upper and a lower section. The entire lower part of the body, including the wheel arches, is protected by gray components, giving the crossover some SUV flair in addition to coupe elements.
Boost mode button on the steering wheel spoke
The exterior mirrors on the GV60 are cameras. The corresponding displays in the interior are located on the interior door panels. Apart from the exterior mirror displays, the cockpit is also similar to that of the Kia EV6.
One difference is the classy leather upholstery with contrasting stitching. The yellow-green color of the stitching is matched by the button on the bottom right of the steering wheel spoke that lets you select a boost mode - another new feature.
Spherical electronic transmission control
At first glance, the interior of the GV60 appears spacious and comfortable. The most striking feature of the GV60's interior design is the Crystal Sphere, a spherical electronic transmission control on the seemingly floating center console that intuitively informs the driver about oncoming vehicles. The Crystal Sphere can generate mood lights.
A combined display spans two-thirds of the dashboard width, bundling the classic instrument cluster and the infotainment screen. Genesis uses the Nvidia Drive platform for the infotainment system with touchscreens.
Full specifications, performance and pricing for Switzerland will be announced soon.
