Ford: SUV as diesel with 180 or 210 hp
Its size alone gives you an idea: The Ford Edge is one of the most expensive models the brand currently offers. Even after the first few kilometers, you are surprised: Despite its power, the SUV is surprisingly smooth and quiet - especially inside. The Ford Edge was developed together with the Mondeo, S-Max and Galaxy models. It has an adaptive steering system that is smooth at low speeds and becomes more responsive as the speed increases. This allows the 4.81-meter-long American to wobble through city traffic in a relaxed manner and to guide the car precisely both on a winding country road and when changing lanes on the highway. Under the hood always and exclusively works a two-liter diesel, which Ford offers in two power levels. In the basic version, the four-cylinder develops 180 hp and 400 Nm of torque (from 49 800 francs), for 7600 francs more there is a different control chip and an output of 210 hp and 450 Nm, as well as a six-speed automatic instead of the manual gearbox. According to the factory, the standard consumption of both variants is just under six liters.

The comfort extras include, for example, heated seats for the rear seat and power outlets in the rear. Like many competing models, the giant also offers a tailgate that swings open electrically after an implied footstep under the bumper and a rear seat back that folds down at the push of a button. The cargo space has a capacity of 602 liters.
Conclusion: Plenty of space, decent performance and a chassis that can easily cope with some bumps make the Ford Edge suitable for a wide range of applications. The list prices are no bargain, but fair for what is on offer, and the Ford Edge will certainly not be a wallflower.
