Ford Mustang comes to Europe in 2018
FORD The revised 5.0-liter V8 is expected to develop 330 kW/450 hp. A new, optional ten-speed automatic is also expected to improve temperament and fuel efficiency. To good neighborhood
New is the so-called "My Mode" option and the innovative "Good Neighbor" setting: When activated, active valve control lowers the sound level of the flap exhaust system to a "neighbor-friendly" level. And thanks to driver assistance systems such as Lane Assist and Pre-Collision Assist with pedestrian detection, drivers can also relax and enjoy the potential of their Mustang.
GT now with four tailpipes
Thanks to the flatter profile of the hood, integrated air intakes that now meet European pedestrian protection requirements, and a modified lower grille, the new Ford Mustang achieves a particularly athletic appearance, according to the supplier. The rear end appears more striking thanks to newly modeled bumper and diffuser elements. This in particular with the GT, i.e. the V8 version with the 5.0 liter engine, which receives an exhaust system with four tailpipes as standard.
Overboost
Thanks to a temporary overboost function, the nominally 290-hp EcoBoost turbo with direct gasoline injection and 2.3-liter displacement impresses at full throttle with even more direct response and powerful acceleration after every gear change. This is particularly true when the four-cylinder engine is combined with the newly developed optional ten-speed automatic transmission. This is also available as an option for the V8. The manual six-speed transmission of the Mustang V8 has also been improved.
