The interior acoustics, which are quiet and cultivated thanks to anti-noise, are effective. Just typically American.

Ford has also been importing the large Edge SUV to Europe for almost three years. Since then, over 1600 buyers in Switzerland have taken a liking to the 4.83-meter-long five-seater. Now the new model year is ready, with a subtly refreshed look and lots of new technology.

More power and more comfort
As before, there is a choice between a weaker 2.0-liter diesel with manual transmission and a 2.0-liter biturbo diesel with automatic transmission. Thanks to differently sized turbochargers, however, the biturbo produces more power, namely 238 hp instead of 210 hp, and with 500 Nm also puts 50 Nm more onto the crankshaft. A welcome power boost, as the car weighs over 2.2 tons empty.
Ford is replacing the previous dual-clutch transmission in the Biturbo with an eight-speed torque converter automatic, which no longer has a gear stick but a compact rotary shifter.

Assistance systems help in traffic jams
On the road, both diesel engines are pleasing, whereby the comfort provided by the smooth and fast-acting automatic transmission in the Biturbo makes us justify the additional price of 5000 francs. The interior acoustics, which are quiet and cultivated thanks to anti-noise, are effective. In addition, the adaptive cruise control in automatic models is now capable of following the car in front until it comes to a standstill and then following it again as soon as it moves on.

Prices start at 51,900 francs
Ford Switzerland considers the most important model to be the ST-Line, priced from 55,400 francs, which with its sporty orientation lies between the Titanium (from 51,900 francs) and the Vignale (57,900 francs).
