The modern super sports car is based on the new Ford GT (model year 2019). The Ford GT Heritage Edition is presented in the unmistakable colors of the legendary GT40, which went down in motorsport history in 1968 and 1969 with its victories in the 24-hour race at Le Mans.

The 1968 Ford GT40, chassis number 1075, was one of a handful of individual cars to repeatedly win the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Worldwide copies of this color scheme
Based on the original Gulf Oil paint scheme of the GT40, the combination of the exterior colors "Unique Heritage Blue" and "Heritage Orange" has been copied by numerous vehicle owners worldwide over the past 50 years.

The Ford GT Heritage Edition will be available as part of a strictly limited two-year period, each with race number 9 for 2019 and race number 6 for 2020 on the doors and hood.

For the interior, buyers of the supercar can choose optional carbon fiber accents. The Heritage edition features carbon fiber A-pillars and one-piece, forged 20-inch alloy wheels in high-gloss, dark stainless steel with black wheel nuts.

Orange brake calipers and silver rear-view mirror caps round out the vehicle's look.
