ONLY THE NAME STILL REMAINS Ford's new small car is called the Puma, and it looks like a big one. The engineers have taken the B-platform and added a lot of extra features all around. The current Ford Puma St-Line is a completely new car not only from the outside.
There used to be a Ford Puma. However, the small crossover no longer has anything to do with its namesake, which ended production in 2001. The current Ford Puma is therefore a completely new car, and not just from the outside.
Trunk with a brilliant idea
However, the new Puma is much smaller inside than it seems at first glance. Nevertheless: It is completely sufficient, you also have a super overview.
The developers have come up with something really ingenious for the trunk: the Megabox. A box recessed into the vehicle floor that holds 80 liters in addition to the trunk volume and has a drain valve. Spontaneous flower bucket purchases are no longer a problem. Two upright golf bags fit inside, and so do two rolling suitcases lying on top of each other. Someone's been thinking.
Basic solid car for e-starter
A standard selective switch gives five driving modes to choose from. Basically, the driving experience in the Puma was not as smooth as the name would suggest. The Puma is not a powerhouse, but a really rock-solid entry-level model for electric mobility.
Engines from 125 to 155 hp
The EcoBoost hybrid drive with 48-volt mild hybrid technology ensures low fuel consumption. Three gasoline engines are available: a 1.0-liter Eco-Boost gasoline engine with 125 hp with and without 48-volt technology, and a more powerful 1.0-liter variant with 48-volt technology and 155 hp.
Conclusion of the first drive: yes, the Puma has what it takes to be an SUV or crossover.
