Mobile, wireless software updates, so-called "over-the-air" updates, ensure that the Mach-E's data is always up to date.
Features and improvements
Whether it's the SYNC voice-controlled communications and entertainment system, driving features or general convenience features, nearly all of the Mustang Mach-E's computer modules can be updated wirelessly, even from home.
Among other things, this means that Ford can provide any improvements and also optimized functions for the Mach-E in the future that may not even have existed when the vehicle was handed over to the customer.
Availability of first updates
Ford expects to offer initial updates within six months after the first units of the all-electric SUV go on sale.
Customers will receive a notification of new software updates at the time of availability and can then apply them either via Wi-Fi or cellular connection, depending on the type of update.
Desired times for transmission
Many of the updates are loaded and activated in the background in less than two minutes. In the case of more complex software updates that take a little longer to transfer or for which the vehicle has to be parked, the customer can specify desired times for the updates - for example, at night when the car is parked in the garage.
The majority of the updates activate themselves immediately after the vehicle is started and the vehicle owner is informed in the car about which improvements have been installed. Here it goes to the Online reservation of the Mach-E.
