Fiat: The 500 with an extra door 🎥

The small door makes it easy to get into the Fiat 500 3+1, just like the first 500 in 1957.

Similar to the Mazda RX-8 or the Hyundai Veloster, for example, there is a small additional door on the passenger side on the Fiat 500 Electric 3+1.

Just like the convertible and the sedan, the Fiat 500 3+1 will be offered in the Opening Edition "la Prima" at launch.

Dimensions like convertible and sedan
The designers at Centro Stile Fiat worked on a solution that kept the same dimensions as the convertible and sedan versions and added a third small door on the passenger side. Just like the first 500 in 1957, which had the doors hinged at the rear.

And once the small door is closed, there is no difference from the other 500s: same style, same dimensions. All this with a weight increase of only 30 kilograms, which does not affect the handling and consumption of the car.

Action, Passion or Icon as you wish
At least as interesting as the Fiat 500 Electric 3+1 are the normal trim levels presented in parallel for the electric 500. There are three lines: basic, medium and high. They go by the names Action, Passion and Icon.

The 500 Action is equipped with a 70 kW (95 hp) electric motor with an acceleration of 9.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and a speed limited to 135 km/h. In purely urban use, over 240 kilometers are said to be possible.

Sustainability and current technology
The middle trim level of the 500, the Passion, is dedicated to those who want to move with the times and those who are looking for sustainability and the latest technology at the same time. The model is trend-setting in terms of range, not only in the CityCars segment: up to 320 kilometers, and even more when driven only in the city.

The model has a fast charging system with 85 kW, so you can go from an empty battery to a range of 80 percent in 35 minutes or to 50 kilometers in about five minutes. The 118-hp engine has an output of 87 kW, offers a top speed of 150 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.0 seconds and 3.1 from 0 to 50 km/h.

Dashboard entirely made of vegan material
The 500 Icon is a true icon of style, technology, materials and equipment. An all-inclusive car, in keeping with the 500's history, which has shown that top versions like the 500 Riva have always been among Fiat's bestsellers.

The dashboard of the Icon is painted in the same color as the body. Natural wood-effect upholstery is also available on request for the dashboard and steering wheel, which is made of a vegan material rather than leather.

Own sound for the 500 by Nino Rota
The sounds that electrically driven cars must produce for safety reasons are virtually the same in all cars: a simple, anonymous electric sound. This "Acoustic Vehicle Alert System" as a warning for pedestrians is mandatory for electric vehicles at speeds below 20 km/h.

The music is a melody composed by Nino Rota, which, like the new Fiat 500, is meant to symbolize Italian culture and nonchalance.

The "Sky Drive" is reminiscent of the High Line Park in New York, the redesign of an elevated train line.

Hanging garden on former factory
Another highlight on the occasion of the presentation of the new models: On the roof of the former factory in Lingotto a "Sky Drive" is being built, a new hanging garden that is to become the highest in Europe

The entire project was developed by specialists under the direction of architect Benedetto Camerana and offers 27,000 square meters of pedestrian walkways, access roads and gardens.

Past, present and future
The fourth floor of the Pinacoteca Agnelli houses the "Casa 500", a museum dedicated to the history of the 500 past, present and future.
