Ferrari: Dream of over 330 km/h 🎥
DOUBLE POWER 50 years after the Dino, the racing car forge from Maranello is once again presenting a road sports car with a mid-mounted V6 engine. Thanks to biturbo and partial electrification, the Ferrari 296 GTB produces a total of 830 hp. With the 296 GTB, Ferrari is entering a new segment; it does not replace any of the familiar models. Ferrari is entering a new segment with the 296 GTB; it does not replace any of the familiar models. Devotees of the brand will be pleased.
Incidentally, the Italians have reverted to traditional conventions for the model designation of the 296 GTB. The first two numbers indicate the displacement of the V6 engine with 2992 cubic centimeters, the six stands for the number of cylinders and the abbreviation GTB for Gran Turismo Berlinetta.
Maximum torque of 740 Nm
The V6 engine under a transparent hood is a new development. The turbocharged 2.9-liter is supported by a 122 kW (167 hp) electric motor located between the engine and transmission.
The electric motor draws its energy from a small battery with 7.45 kilowatt hours, which is housed in the vehicle floor. Maximum torque is 740 Nm and is transmitted to the rear axle via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
As a result, the 296 GTB accelerates to 100 km/h in just under three seconds, and the top speed is over 330 km/h.
The pilot can choose between four driving modes
A rotary switch on the steering wheel (eManettino) allows the driver to choose between four driving modes. In eDrive mode, the 296 GTB is said to power along for up to 25 kilometers at a speed of 135 km/h.
In the second stage, Hybrid, the two drives work extremely efficiently, while under Performance the combustion engine stores as much battery energy as possible to ensure high performance at all times during powerful acceleration. Quali mode, on the other hand, delivers maximum power and drains the charged batteries.
Additional diffuser increases contact pressure
The mid-engine sports car largely dispenses with expansive spoilers. Nevertheless, a discreet front lip combined with the retractable rear spoiler between the small taillights ensure sophisticated aerodynamics.
Additional downforce is provided not only by the diffuser and a sophisticated underbody but also by the integrated active spoiler in the rear bumper.
Optionally with lightweight Assetto Fiorano package
In addition, the 296 GTB can also be ordered with the optional "Assetto Fiorano" lightweight package Gallery top right).
In addition to weight-saving carbon elements on the outside and inside and an ultra-light rear window made of Lexan, the package includes adjustable racing shock absorbers and high-performance Michelin Sport Cup 2 R tires.
