Ferrari: With the Spider comes the summer 🎥
DRIVING FUN In Marrakech, Ferrari presented the Spider version of the elegant V8 biturbo Roma model. A wind deflector integrated into the rear seat backrest ensures great driving comfort for the soft-top convertible.
After launching a new model, Ferrari follows up in time for the summer with an open-top version - often called a Spider in Maranello. This is also the case with the Roma. The elegant sports car with a 3.9-liter V8 biturbo engine and 8-speed dual-clutch transmission now gets a soft top in the convertible version that offers acoustic comfort on a par with a retractable hard top and can be lowered to 60 km/h in just 13.5 seconds.
For the first time in 54 years, after the 365 GTS4, Maranello is again offering such a solution in a front-engined model.
Movable geometry of the spoiler
The Roma Spider, designed by the Ferrari Centro Stile design center under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, can be individualized with tailor-made soft-top fabrics and elegant contrast stitching. A newly developed, patented wind deflector in the backrest of the rear seat can be extended at the press of a button on the center tunnel, thus guaranteeing the greatest possible convertible comfort.
The modifications to the Roma Spider's body also required a new moving geometry for the spoiler. Its design was meticulously refined to perfect the vehicle's new roofline.
Maximum output of 620 hp and 760 Nm
The Spider's V8 biturbo engine delivers a maximum torque of 760 Nm and a peak output of 620 hp, which is available between 5750 and 7500 rpm. This enables the 4.66-meter-long, 1556-kilogram Roma to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and to 200 km/h in 9.7 seconds. The top speed is a good 320 km/h.
To enable such tremendous driving performance to be better controlled, driving dynamics systems such as the Side Slip Control System 6.0 and the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer are on board as standard in addition to the traditional electronic stability control. The familiar Manettino is also available in the Roma Cabrio for five-stage driving mode selection.
