Thanks to the use of aluminum, it is around 40 kilograms lighter than a conventional roof of this type. In addition, it only takes up 100 liters of storage space, so the eight-cylinder engine of the SF90 Spider remains clearly visible through the engine compartment cover.
An adjustable power rear window provides good interior shielding even when the vehicle is open and traveling at high speeds.
Up to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds
Of course, the Spider also has the 780 hp V8 engine and two electric motors on the front and one on the rear axle. The plug-in hybrid car thus delivers a system output of 1000 hp to the track.
Like the Stradale, the Spider has all-wheel drive. The Ferrari reaches 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and 200 km/h in just 4.5 seconds.
Controls on the center tunnel
A touchpad on the steering wheel allows the driver to control almost any vehicle function without taking their hands off the wheel.
The central instrument cluster is fully digital and features a 16-inch curved HD screen that can be configured and controlled using the steering wheel controls alone.
On the center tunnel, the automatic transmission controls are operated by a grille-like element reminiscent of Ferrari's legendary manual splitter gearshift.
Variant Assetto Fiorano for racing use
The Spider is also available in the sportier Assetto Fiorano version, which has been optimized for use on the racetrack. It has special Multimatic shock absorbers and weighs 21 kilograms less thanks to the use of carbon fiber and titanium.
Fitted are road-homologated Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. A two-tone paint finish is also offered as an option.
