The design of the Nissan GT-R50 is defined by gold elements, the use of carbon fiber and high-quality interior materials. In the side view, the roof line, which has been lowered by 54 millimeters, stands out. Highlights include the air intakes in the hood.

Two different carbon fiber patterns in the GT-R50 dominate the center console, instrument panel and door trim. Black Alcantara and Italian leather, also in black, adorn the seats. As on the outside, gold accents run through the cockpit.

Mamoru Aoki, Vice President of Nissan Design Europe, explains the interior design of the Nissan GT-R50 to AutoSprintCH editor Stefan Donat. Much is reminiscent of the base model GT-R, which is also a very popular model in Switzerland.

A large, adjustable rear wing on two supports completes the overall impression of the GT-R50. The prototype is painted in Liquid Kinetic Gray. While the GT-R celebrates its 50th birthday next year, Italdesign is already half a century old in 2018.

Small series of 50 vehicles is planned
The GT-R50 is based on the Nissan GT-R Nismo. Mamoru Aoki, Vice President of Nissan Design Europe: "Italdesign developed, designed and built the car. The exterior and interior design came from Nissan Design Europe in London and from Nissan Design America,. The 50 in the model designation means that we will not build more than 50 cars in a possible small series. Guaranteed."

Hand-mounted 3.8-liter V6 engine produces 720 hp
Beneath the new forms of the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is a radical evolution of familiar virtues: Based on Nissan's GT3 racing heritage, motorsport subsidiary Mismo tickles an estimated 720 hp and 780 Nm of maximum torque out of the hand-mounted 3.8-liter V6 engine. A revised Bilstein adaptive suspension and upgraded Brembo braking system help handle the extra power. A reinforced sequential six-speed dual-clutch transmission and stronger differentials and driveshafts direct the power to all four wheels.

Polls decide on a road version
Depending on the feedback on the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign at Goodwood and in the context of further presentations worldwide, a limited edition of a street version is conceivable.
