Among the ten most environmentally friendly vehicles on the current Swiss environmental list with internal combustion engines are seven small cars powered by natural gas (CNG), two hybrids from Toyota and only one gasoline-powered vehicle, the small Suzuki Celerio. Secure supply There are now 140 filling stations in Switzerland. Thanks to highly secure composite materials, gas tanks in cars are now just as safe as those in gasoline or diesel vehicles. In most cases, the clean vehicles also have a gasoline tank on board as a range extender. They also save on taxes and duties. A range of over 1000 kilometers is no problem

Attractive and economical models are available from Audi
Audi offers several attractive vehicles that can run on bivalent fuel, i.e. either CNG or gasoline. Both the A4 Avant g-tron (from 49,400 Swiss francs) and the A5 Sportback g-tron (from 48,700 Swiss francs) have the 170-hp two-liter turbo and promise ranges of around 950 kilometers. The 110-hp A3 Sportback g-tron (from 33 750 Swiss francs) even manages up to 1300 kilometers.

Audi A 5 Sportback g-tron: 2.0-170-hp turbo gasoline engine, 19 kilos of natural gas, range 950 kilometers. Lots of pleasant comfort and driving pleasure without end.

City runabout with natural gas drive cheaper than the streetcar
In addition to Audi, the Group's sister companies VW, Seat, Skoda and Volkswagen also have interesting natural gas models on offer. The best-selling Skoda Octavia also cuts a good figure as a G-Tec with a range of up to 1330 kilometers and very low operating costs. The Seat Mii Ecofuel and Skoda Citigo G-Tec city runabouts are among the cleanest cars around and don't cost the earth. Volkswagen offers the Polo TGI from 24,350 Swiss francs. Fiat also offers nippy CNG runabouts like the Panda or 500L or practical minivans like the Qubo or Doblò under the Natural Power label.
