A rebel wants to know again

COMPACT CROSSOVER In the ten years of its car life, the Nissan Qashqai became Europe's most successful compact crossover. Now, the generation launched in 2014 has been upgraded and is ready with a new equipment variant to once again conquer the hearts of the Swiss. Nissan Qashqai
The new Nissan Qashqai will be available in Switzerland during August.

The Qashqai is not only the most successful model in its segment, but also the most successful in Europe throughout Nissan's 83-year history. Since the launch of the first generation in 2007, which broke with many conventions at the time, around 2.3 million units have been sold.

How can you make good things better? You ask the customers! Nissan did and found out that they wanted more premium appeal and a particularly luxuriously equipped model. The answer is the new top-of-the-line Tekna+ trim level. For the first time in a Nissan model in Europe, it offers seats with premium Nappa leather and luxuriously quilted surfaces.

Modifications on all models focus on exterior design, higher interior quality, improved driving performance and new Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies for greater comfort and safety. For example, the driver's seat's four-way power lumbar support (another European first) improves seating comfort and prevents fatigue.

High quality interior
The new steering wheel, which is used not only in all variants of the Qashqai but also in the new Micra and the revised X-Trail (market launch in September), is immediately noticeable. The sporty shape, flattened at the bottom, makes it easier to get in and out of the car. The air vents and door handles, new stitching on the center armrest (from Acenta), the dark headliner (from Tekna+) or the leather cuff on the selector lever of the optional automatic transmission provide a higher quality feel. As standard, all windows can be opened electrically at the touch of a button (one-touch function) and all at once by remote control - for example, to ventilate the interior before getting in on hot days.

Equipped for DAB
Based on customer feedback, Nissan has also optimized the two infotainment systems on offer. Digital radio is now available in all variants, and the touchscreen layout of the navigation system has been designed to resemble an app. A modern shark antenna ensures better reception and a contemporary look. However, our test drives in the greater Vienna area and Lower Austria confirmed the old adage: no reception without a transmitter. That's a shame, because a Bose system with eight speakers (including two subwoofers) is standard in the Tekna+ and optional in the Tekna and provides a high-quality sound experience.

The screw was also tightened on the other side of the noise spectrum: More and better material has been used for noise insulation in the doors and behind the rear wheel arches. Added to this are optimized seals on the front doors and thicker glass in the rear doors. Indeed, lovers of silence will greatly appreciate the new Qashqai thanks to less road and wind noise, as well as the quieter 1.6-liter diesel engine.

Speaking of engines
The powertrain range continues to consist of two diesel and two gasoline engines covering a power spectrum from 81 kW/110 hp to 120 kW/163 hp. The entry-level 1.5-liter diesel (81 kW/110 hp) is available in conjunction with front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission, while an automatic transmission or all-wheel drive (only with manual transmission) is available for the 1.6-liter diesel (96 kW/130 hp). Among the gasoline engines, the 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (85 kW/115 hp) is optionally available with the automatic transmission, while in the top model with 1.6-liter displacement and 120 kW/163 hp, power is transmitted via the six-speed manual transmission.

Anyone who orders by July 31 will be rewarded with a premium of at least 1000 francs exclusively in Switzerland. Thus, the Qashqai starts from 22,990 francs.
