Market launch March 2018
Now Mercedes-Benz is taking up the charisma and character of the trendsetter with the third generation of the CLS. With numerous design details, it also joins the current coupé family from Mercedes-Benz. Its cw value of 0.26 characterizes its outstanding aerodynamics.
New engine range
The engine range of the CLS is completely new. At market launch, it comprises three six-cylinder models: CLS 350 d 4MATIC (210 kW/286 hp), CLS 400 d 4MATIC (250 kW/340 hp)and CLS 450 4MATIC (270 kW + 16 kW/367 hp + 22 hp). The standard equipment of the CLS is extensive: Highlights include LED high-performance headlights, rear view camera, lane departure warning system, cruise control, navigation package, 12.3-inch media display, touchpad with controller, ambient lighting including illuminated air vents, Mercedes me connect services and communication module with LTE.
Coupeform
The coupé features include the two-piece taillights, the reflectors in the bumper, the license plate in the bumper and the star in the center of the trunk lid. A retractable camera is fitted as standard. The seats were designed exclusively for this model series. The outer rear seats look like the front seats, giving them the character of individual seats. For the first time, the CLS Coupé is a five-seater. The backrests can be folded down in a 40/20/40 ratio on request, expanding the large 520-liter luggage compartment as required.
Intelligent Drive
In many respects, the new CLS generation is catching up with the new S-Class, according to the manufacturer: The CLS features the latest generation of driving assistance systems with route-based support for the driver as part of the Driving Assistance package. The range of driving assistance and safety systems is modular, and new and included as standard is Pre-Safe Sound (prepares human hearing for the expected sound of an accident in the event of a risk of collision).
Jewel at the start
The exclusivity of the CLS can be enhanced even further with Edition 1, which is available for around a year from market launch. The special model has numerous luxurious equipment details as standard, which are only available as part of Edition 1.
