At launch, there will be a choice of two gasoline engines and an LPG-optimized engine for the Sandero.

Visually, the Sandero has a new appearance with a more inclined windshield and a roof that has been lowered by one centimeter. Assistance systems such as emergency brake assist and a blind spot warning system are fitted as standard.

Ground clearance increased to 17.4 centimeters
The most important distinguishing features of the Stepway, apart from the 4.1 centimeter increase in ground clearance to 17.4 centimeters, are a strikingly contoured hood and a separate front apron with black plastic inserts around the fog lamps.

There is also the underride protection at the front and rear. Black wheel arch protectors and side sills, the Stepway logo below the radiator grille and the roof rails are further distinguishing features.

16-inch flexwheels in the look of alloy wheels are fitted as standard.

Sandero
From next year, the Sandero will also be available with an electrically operated sunroof.

Better visibility with LED headlights
For the first time at Dacia, full-LED headlights are available for both models. At 110 meters, their range is 37 percent greater than that of the halogen lights in the predecessor model.

The light cone is also nine percent wider at 24 meters. Depending on the equipment level, the Sandero and Sandero Stepway are also equipped with a rain sensor in addition to the light sensor.

Emergency Brake Assist works with radar
A new feature in active safety is the radar-based emergency brake assist system that is active between seven and 170 km/h. The system is also available in a range of different colors.

If there is a risk of collision with the vehicle in front, the system warns acoustically and with a visual signal. If the driver does not brake hard enough, the system increases the brake pressure and triggers emergency braking.

Also new in both variants is a blind spot warning system that is active between 30 and 140 km/h.

More knee room for rear-seat occupants
With virtually unchanged exterior dimensions, there is even more space available in the interior than in the predecessor models.

This increases the knee room in the rear by 4.2 centimeters. The trunk volume is 328 liters. Up to 21 liters of additional stowage space are available in the interior.

The driver's seat, front headrests and steering wheel are height adjustable. The valance can also be adjusted in depth. More details you can also see in the gallery

Optimization of electric power steering
On board is an optimized electric power steering system that reduces steering effort by 36 percent. In addition, a parking aid with rearview camera is available. The keyless access and start system Keycard-Handsfree and the electronic parking brake are also part of the equipment, as is hill start assist.

3.5-inch TFT display and two speakers
Three multimedia solutions are available for the new models. The basis is the new Media Control system with 3.5-inch TFT display and two speakers, as well as the app of the same name that connects the smartphone with the car radio.

The new media display system has four speakers and an eight-inch display slightly facing the driver and positioned at the top for better visibility. The device allows smartphone integration via Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Six-speed manual transmission or automatic
The base engine for the Sandero is the naturally aspirated SCe 65 coupled with the five-speed manual transmission. The TCe 90 is available as a second gasoline engine.

Dacia combines the turbo unit with a newly developed six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable CVT automatic.

With the TCe 100 Eco-G variant, the Romanians also offer an engine for the Sandero and Sandero Stepway that has been optimized for operation with LPG and has eleven percent lower CO2 emissions.

The Swiss prices of the two models have not yet been determined.
