The Cupra models have enjoyed great popularity in this country for many years. This summer, the brand split off from parent company Seat and repositioned itself. Switzerland is one of the six main markets.
Sandra Grau, Head of Brand Seat Switzerland: "We are convinced that Cupra will also gain a foothold here as an independent brand. Since the launch of the new brand, we've already had over 1,200 interested parties contact us."

Seat's motorsport experience as a basis
Exclusive Cupra presentation areas with specially trained personnel (Cupra Masters) will be set up at selected Seat dealers. Twelve Cupra Corners are planned in the first phase. In principle, however, the Cupra Ateca can also be ordered from all Seat dealers.
Former Formula 1 test driver and long-time touring car professional Jordi GenΓ© was also involved in the development of the first Cupra model, which incorporates Seat's many years of motorsport experience. The 47-year-old Catalonian: "I was used to a low center of gravity in my sports cars. But I quickly realized that so much power is definitely fun in a family SUV, too."

From 0 to 100 takes just 5.2 seconds
The Cupra Ateca is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine with 300 hp and 400 Nm. The power is transmitted to all four drive wheels via a fast-acting 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission as standard. The fiery Spaniard manages the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a sporty 5.2 seconds and the forward momentum only ends at 247 km/h. In our test car, biting Brembo brakes provide the deceleration. In addition, there is a sporty chassis control, progressive steering and various driving modes. The Spaniard is at its sharpest in Cupra mode. But it can be driven just as smoothly in city traffic.

Many parts from the shelves of the group
Numerous driving safety systems from the Group's extensive range are available. On the exterior, the Cupra Ateca is distinguished from its more civilian brother by the four tailpipes integrated into the rear diffuser, a mighty honeycomb front grille, LED lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and various logos and lettering. Outstanding Cupra extras in the interior include the 10.25-inch digital cockpit, the 8-inch color touchscreen, the 360-degree all-round camera, and the sporty Alcantara bucket seats that offer good lateral support.
