The Cadillac XT4 crossover celebrated its European premiere at Auto Basel the weekend before last.

As part of Auto Basel, visitors to the Emil Frey AG Basel stand were able to get a first impression of Cadillac's eagerly awaited premium SUV. Developed on a new basic architecture for compact SUVs, the XT4 combines Cadillac's entry into Europe's fastest growing automotive segment.

New two-liter diesel
The XT4 crossover boasts an expressive design, spacious interior with compact exterior dimensions, impressive performance and new technologies. Exclusively and for the first time for the European market, a two-liter turbodiesel unit is used. It develops around 170 hp and achieves a maximum torque of 380 Nm (preliminary factory figures). Power is transmitted to the drive wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift technology.

The 2.0 turbodiesel engine has been completely redeveloped. It is Euro 6d compatible.

Two versions for Europe
When it goes on sale in Europe next year, the XT4 will be available to customers in two different versions: XT4 Launch Edition (front-wheel drive) with 18-inch aluminum wheels, grille, roof rails, skirts and window surrounds in satin aluminum or silver metallic, and XT4 Launch Edition Sport (choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with dual-clutch system) with 20-inch aluminum wheels, sport grille, roof rails, skirts and window surrounds in gloss black, sport steering wheel and aluminum sport pedals and bright-transparent LED taillights.

From 50950 francs
The XT4 comes standard with a host of comfort and safety features. They also come at no extra charge with 360-degree camera, automatic parking assist for parallel and cross parking, Cadillac User Experience (CUE) information and media system with integrated 3-D navigation and other features. The optional "Premium Package" offers even more luxury.

The design is appealing, and the new XT4 crossover has a sporty look. Customers can choose between front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

The two exclusive, extensively equipped Launch Editions will be available in Switzerland at prices ranging from 50,950 Swiss francs to 58,400 Swiss francs, depending on the model variant selected.
