Byton: Electric SUV with up to 475 hp 🎥

NAGELPROBE Byton has completed tests with prototypes of the M-Byte in Inner Mongolia in northern China. The focus of testing was on the batteries, battery management, electric drive and drive electronics. The heating and air-conditioning system also had to prove itself in freezing cold continuous operation.

Symbols for music, navigation and climate
The Chinese automaker Byton considers the cockpit of its M-Byte model to be the "most intuitive interface in the automotive industry". At CES in Las Vegas 2019, the cockpit with the giant screen was on display for the first time (AutoSprintCH reported).

The changed steering wheel design is striking: Whereas the touchscreen, which Byton calls the "Driver Tablet," initially covered the entire baffle, a small lower area remained free in later concepts. In series production, the seven-inch Driver Tablet now covers only about half of the baffle, and the menu includes icons for music, navigation and air conditioning.

Pre-series production starts in summer
Since the middle of last year, Byton has been testing around 100 prototypes on test rigs, test tracks and in road traffic in China and the USA. Production of a pre-series is scheduled for the summer. The brand's first vehicles are scheduled for delivery in China at the end of 2019, in the USA in the second half of 2020, and in Europe at the end of 2020
