BYD: Dreams from China? 🎥
WITH NEW IDEAS Chinese car and battery manufacturer BYD will launch a range of new, electrically powered vehicles - one sedan, two SUVs - in key European markets starting next fall.
BYD is one of China's battery and car manufacturers longest known in our latitudes. Now the company is about to launch three all-electric models in several European markets.
Whether the Chinese can live up to their ambitious name remains to be seen: BYD stands for Build Your Dreams!
Novelties at the start in a triple pack
The sporty Han sedan (left gallery), the five-meter-long seven-seater Tang family SUV and the European-oriented Atto 3 SUV (right gallery) will soon be launched - according to the manufacturer, precisely tailored to the expectations and needs of European drivers. This trio will celebrate its European premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October.
BYD cooperates with experienced wholesalers and retailers in European countries. Strategic partnerships have been announced with Louwman in the Netherlands, Hedin Mobility Group in Sweden and Germany, Christiansen Group in Denmark, RSA in Norway and Shlomo Motors in Israel.
Fully electric and with all-wheel drive
The BYD Han is powered by two electric motors with a combined 380 kW, and in combination with all-wheel drive the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Also new are the so-called blade batteries from BYD. These cobalt-free batteries are also used in the Tang SUV, which is equipped with fully electric variable all-wheel drive.
The compact BYD Atto 3 with front-wheel drive is the first SUV based on BYD's e-Platform 3.0. Its interior is fully digital and connected. BYD lists ranges of 400 (Tang) to more than 500 kilometers (Han).

Pilot project in Norway for one year
Michael Shu, Managing Director BYD Europe: "The Tang was already launched in a pilot project in Norway in August 2021. In July 2022, it ranked second among E-SUVs there. With the help of our local partners, we will provide the highest level of knowledgeable product and customer support."
BYD's European headquarters are located in the Netherlands, where the company has been based since 1998.
