Bugatti: W16 Mistral - the wind is godfather 🎥

FINALE Since the launch of the Veyron in 2005, the W16 engine has been at the heart of every model from Molsheim. Now the W16 era is coming to an end - with the new Bugatti W16 Mistral, the ultimate hypersportscar roadster.

For a model as important as the last W16, Bugatti considered very carefully what designation it should bear. After all, this roadster is more than just a further development of the Chiron.

The powerful wind that blows from the Rhône Valley through the cities of the Côte d'Azur to the Mediterranean Sea served as inspiration. And since the drive is so central to the character of this roadster, it stands side by side with this wind: W16 Mistral.

The W16 Mistral is the last model with the legendary 8-liter engine.

With 1600 hp, there is power in abundance
The W16 in the new model is based on the final version of the 1600 hp engine first used in the Chiron Super Sport 300+. The existing monocoque of the Chiron has been reshaped to create a rounder silhouette without compromising performance.

The Bugatti Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid built in 1934 served as an important inspiration for the W16 Mistral. That's why the W16 Mistral also debuts in a paint finish inspired by the Type 57: a warm black with hints of truffle brown and yellow accents.

Interplay of elegance and excitement
To keep the side section of the body slim and at the same time allow optimum air supply to the W16, Bugatti separated the side oil cooler inlets from the engine air intakes. These now sit directly behind the occupants' headrests. They again cite the Type 57 Roadster Grand Raid as well as the first open Bugatti of modern times: the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport.

To achieve the unmatched interplay of elegance and excitement, the W16 Mistral features the latest technical solutions. Bugatti's composite materials are combined with titanium and aluminum 3D printing to achieve a striking design and robust reliability.

Only 99 examples of the W16 Mistral will be built at a price of €5 million each. Delivery will begin in 2024, but the entire production run has already been sold out.
