Bugatti: This is the Chiron Pure Sport 🎥

Nine right turns, ten left turns, 44 crests and troughs are part of the Bilster Berg runway.
Bugatti engineers can finally test the hypercar on a circuit again. Fine-tuning of the chassis, handling, damper control, steering, the condition of tires and transmission, and testing of all engine components are the focus.
Test tracks are very important
Head of Development Stefan Ellrot: "This is crucial for development because we tune the Chiron Pur Sport for maximum performance and lateral dynamics. The laps on test tracks are incredibly important in this."
The overall vehicle impression under all load conditions and at all speeds is also checked and fine-tuned over and over again during the tests.
Philosophy of the company founder
Stefan Ellrot: "With the Chiron Pur Sport, we are taking a more extreme and radical approach to development. It is the perfect car for all those drivers who are excited about pushing curves to their limits and who want to feel connected to the road."
The philosophy behind the Pur Sport is in line with that of the company's founder, Ettore Bugatti, who always made a point of creating a special vehicle for every purpose.
Challenging track Bilster Berg
Nine right turns, ten left turns. 44 crests and troughs. 20 percent incline and 26 percent decline with a difference in altitude of 70 meters over a length of 4207 meters. The Bilster Berg is a circuit in the middle of the Teutoburg Forest - and for three days in May it is the test track for the new Chiron Pur Sport. The testers have to determine and analyze precise data within the shortest possible time and implement the results back in the vehicle.
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2-R-R
After a few fast laps, the cars return to the pits. Warm air rises from the wheel arches, and the 16-cylinder quietly roars at idle speed.
Jachin Schwalbe, Head of Chassis Development at Bugatti, explains the details Chiron Pur Sport.
Data is read out, tires are changed. Several sets of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2-R tires are waiting for their turn in the pit in the paddock, the impact wrenches of the three mechanics humming incessantly. Until the next fast passes over the challenging, three-dimensional topography.
Chassis has been made significantly firmer
Again and again, the engineers in their fireproof racing suits stand together at a safe distance, bend over their laptops with the columns of figures and discuss the values. In addition to the new, much firmer chassis with modified camber, newly developed tires and shorter gear ratio, they also have to tune the engine with turbocharger and retune it.
There are only 60 copies worldwide
The Pur Sport has lost around 50 kilograms in weight compared with the Chiron. Downforce has increased and the chassis is taut, agile and tuned for the most demanding roads with different curves.
The Chiron Pure Sport is a pure, uncompromising driving machine. In 6th gear, for example, it accelerates from 60 to 120 km/h almost two seconds faster than the already extremely fast Chiron.
Bugatti will begin production of the Chiron Pur Sport, limited to 60 units, in the second half of 2020, with a net price tag of three million euros.
Further tests on the Nordschleife
In the coming weeks, further tests will follow on race tracks, including the Nürburgring-Nordschleife with its 20.83-kilometer uphill and downhill sections. There, too, it will be a case of testing, testing, testing - until customers who have ordered the Chiron Pur Sport can finally experience the car for themselves.
