Test records at the Nürburgring
Thanks to many shared genes with the M4 GT3, it achieved the best lap times ever recorded for a BMW production car during test drives on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The notarized time for the 20,832-kilometer lap is 7:20.207 minutes.

BMW M GmbH's racing expertise made it possible to achieve a DIN unladen weight of 1625 kilograms. The 3.7-second sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h is also impressive.

CSL - Competition, Sport, Lightweight
The high power level of the 3-liter biturbo engine was achieved by increasing the maximum boost pressure 1.7 to 2.1 bar and tuning the engine management system specifically for the model. Between 2750 and 5950 rpm, the engine provides a maximum torque of 650 Nm, with peak power reached at 6250 rpm.

The letter abbreviation CSL stands for Competition, Sport, Leichtbau. It refers to the central importance of weight-optimized design for success in racing.

The BMW 3.0 CSL developed by BMW Motorsport GmbH according to this principle won the European Touring Car Championship at the first attempt in 1973. In addition, the BMW M4 CSL follows in the footsteps of successful special models from previous generations of the BMW M3/M4 series.

World premiere on Lake Como
Production of the special model begins shortly after the world premiere of the M4 CSL at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on Lake Como, which is one of the highlights of M GmbH's anniversary year.

Starting in July, a series of exactly 1,000 units will be produced at the Dingolfing plant - 62 of which are destined for the Swiss market.
