Audi: This is how the Sprinter e-tron GT drives 🎥

FIRST TEST IN SWITZERLAND The Four Rings let it rip with the e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT. The duo will be available at the dealerships from May. AutoSprintCH was able to experience sprints of a special kind in advance. At the Buochs airfield, AutoSprintCH got down to business with the RS. With performance data of 350 kW (476 [...]

At the Buochs airfield, AutoSprintCH got down to business with the RS.

With performance figures of 350 kW (476 hp) and 410 kW (598 hp) for the RS version, Audi is virtually pushing driving dynamics to the extreme in the electric luxury class. At the same time, the developers in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm have managed to successfully conceal the weight of more than 2.3 tons.

e-tron GT
In designing the e-Tron GT, the designers pulled out all the stops to take advantage of the platform.

The four-door car builds up speed with brute force
According to the factory, the normal e-tron GT needs 4.1 seconds, the RS model 3.3 seconds for the sprint to 100 km/h, and the top speeds are 245 or 250 km/h. On the runway of the Buochs airfield, where usually only jets leave skid marks, AutoSprintCH got down to business with the RS.

The four-door car hangs on the accelerator pedal finely, almost nervously, and builds up speed with brutal elemental force. Even the entry-level variant (from 109,900 Swiss francs) is so good that the interested customer can actually save himself the step to the even more powerful RS model (from 149,400 Swiss francs).

The RS e-Tron GT is still a bit better, but the advantage only really becomes clear in speed ranges that drivers of electric cars are better off avoiding in order to save power for the next kilometers,

Foot garages for passengers riding in the back
In designing the e-Tron GT, the designers pulled out all the stops and took full advantage of the electric platform. The front hood, which conceals a small trunk, is unusually flat.

Thanks to the sophisticated platform architecture with foot garages for the rear passengers, the passenger cell could also be designed very low. A sufficiently large trunk sits in the rear.

Painted plastic, wood or matte carbon fiber
The interior is also very distinctively designed, with futuristic and generously glazed surfaces as well as large-scale trim elements, which are made of painted plastic, wood or matte carbon fiber. Seats and trim can be specified in a choice of leather, microfiber or fabric.

Top position among high-priced electric cars
With its modern shape and dynamic qualities, the e-Tron GT already occupies a top position among high-priced electric cars in its entry-level variant. Only the sister model Porsche Taycan and the Tesla models offer similar performance.

There's no doubt about it: The Audians have done a great job.
