In addition, the RS version is about wider and comes with new 21- and 22-inch wheels. The model can be personalized with three appearance packages.
V8 engine with 600 hp and 800 Nm
But what makes the coupe sedan, which is more than five meters long and weighs over two tons, particularly attractive is the 4-liter V8 biturbo gasoline engine with 800 Nm and 600 hp. It helps the RS7 achieve outstanding performance and operates at low revs in everyday driving and is correspondingly smooth.
If only little power is required, sailing with the engine switched off is possible thanks to the 48-volt mild hybrid system. What's more, fuel is also saved by switching from 8- to 4-cylinder operation. The 8-speed automatic transmission shifts quickly and smoothly.
However, the engine is most fun at full power. Then long distances at high speeds can be covered on the highway in a relaxed manner. The double glazing and other insulation measures ensure that the noise level inside remains low.
Multiple drive modes with Drive Select system
The RS7 shows its sporty qualities on winding country roads. The Drive Select system offers a choice of several driving modes - newly RS1 and RS2 with individual settings. In addition, the customer can choose between air suspension and RS sport suspension.
The sports differential and above all the rear-wheel steering also have a major influence on the handling of the large coupe. This provides significantly more agility and better stability. The all-wheel drive distributes the engine power to the axles in a 40:60 ratio. Depending on the grip, however, up to 70 percent goes to the front or up to 85 percent to the rear. As an alternative to the steel brake, a ceramic brake is available with the RS Dynamic Package Plus.
The first deliveries will take place towards the end of the year - at prices starting at 160,800 Swiss francs.
