Like any plug-in hybrid, the Audi Q8 TFSI e quattro brings together the strengths from two worlds.

The SUV coupé is available in two performance levels. The Q8 55 TFSI e quattro comes with 381 hp system output. The Q8 60 TFSI e quattro even has 462 hp.

Union and strengths from two worlds
The SUV coupé is already the seventh model with plug-in hybrid drive that the four rings have put on its wheels since mid-2019. Its combustion engine, the 3.0 TFSI, produces 340 hp and 450 Nm of torque. The V6 meets the current Euro 6 AP emissions standard.

The electric motor is a permanently operating synchronous machine with an output of 100 kW. The compact electric motor is integrated into the housing of the eight-speed tiptronic.

Battery system with 17.8 kWh energy content
The lithium-ion battery is located under the luggage compartment floor. It contains 104 new-generation pouch cells grouped into 13 modules. Each of these cells with a flexible outer skin has a current capacity of 48 Ah, and the battery system has an energy content of 17.8 kWh.

Mechanically controlling center differential
The electric motor and the 3.0 TFSI send their power to an eight-speed tiptronic. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive uses a purely mechanically controlled center differential. During normal driving, it distributes the torques in a 40:60 ratio between the front and rear axles. When necessary, it directs the greater part to the axle with better traction.

Electronic governor at 240 km/h
When both powertrains deliver full power, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.4 seconds. At 240 km/h, propulsion is electronically limited. The Q8 55 TFSI e quattro delivers 381 hp system output and 600 Nm system torque. The sprint to highway speed is completed in 5.8 seconds, and the top speed is also 240 km/h.

Space for five occupants and the luggage
Both models offer generous space for five people, and their luggage compartment with a flat, easy-to-load load floor holds 505 liters or more; with the rear seat folded down, the volume is as high as 1625 liters. Depending on the equipment, trailers weighing up to 3.5 tons can be towed.

Full charge in about two and a half hours
The new plug-in hybrid models have a charging cable for household and industrial sockets in the trunk as standard. With the maximum charging power of up to 7.4 kW, an empty battery can be fully charged again in about two and a half hours. In addition to the cable for the garage, the Audi Q8 TFSI e quattro also comes with a Mode 3 cable for public charging stations.

The Audi Q8 55 TFSI e quattro is priced from 99,800 Swiss francs and will be available from mid-December.
