Audi presents the new A5 models: S5 Avant, S5 Sedan, A5 Sedan and A5 Avant. Sporty design, innovative interior and efficient combustion engines set new standards.
With the new A5 family, Audi is opening another chapter in its successful mid-size series. Thirty years after the debut of the first Audi A4, the latest generation, now under the name Audi A5, impresses with a sharpened design language and premium proportions. Both the saloon and the Avant embody the sporty essence of the Audi design philosophy. The interior is characterized by a new design language that creates a generous feeling of space and presents the displays on a digital stage. The innovative operating concept improves interaction with the vehicle. Efficient, partially electrified combustion engines and emotional S models complete the range.
Design redefined
The new A5 family impresses with a sharpened design language and impressive premium proportions. The models perfectly embody the sporty essence of the Audi design philosophy. The new interior creates a generous feeling of space and presents the displays on a digital stage. The innovative operating concept increases interaction with the vehicle, while the efficient, partially electrified combustion engines and the emotional S models round off the range.
Interior technology meets comfort
With the new E³ version 1.2 electronics architecture in the interior, Audi offers seamless integration into the customer's digital ecosystem. The slim, free-standing Audi MMI panoramic display in curved design using OLED technology consists of the Audi virtual cockpit with an 11.9-inch screen diagonal and the 14.5-inch MMI touch display. This digital stage is complemented by an optional 10.9-inch MMI passenger display, perfectly integrated into the dashboard design.
Efficient, partially electrified combustion engines
The new A5 family starts with a range of efficient drive systems. The engines, from a 2.0 TFSI with 150 kW (204 PS) to a powerful 3.0 V6 TFSI in the S5 with 270 kW (367 PS), offer a wide choice for different driving needs. The advanced MHEV plus hybrid system based on a 48-volt on-board electrical system supports the combustion engine and simultaneously increases performance while reducing fuel consumption.
Audi CEO Gernot Döllner on the new model family: "The new A5 shines with its sporty design, new interior and modern electronics architecture. It also marks the launch of our new generation of efficient combustion engines".
The new naming differentiates between e-models and combustion engines - even numbers will in future stand for electrically powered models, odd numbers for vehicles with combustion engines.
Market launch and prices
The new Audi A5 family will be launched in Germany and numerous other European countries, as well as in Switzerland, in November. The models will be available to order in Switzerland from July 2024. The Audi A5 Sedan TFSI 150 kW will be available from CHF 61,200 and the Audi A5 Avant TFSI 150 kW from CHF 63,050. Both models come with extensive equipment such as a reversing camera, adaptive cruise assist and LED headlights as standard.
Dynamic and muscular exterior design
The exterior of the new A5 models is powerful and clean. The modified proportions with a long wheelbase, large wheels and a flat, sporty body embody progressive dynamism and premium standards. Particularly noteworthy are the new digital OLED rear lights and the digital daytime running lights with LED technology, which turn the vehicle more and more into a display and increase safety on the road.
With these innovations, Audi is once again underlining its position as a leading supplier of premium vehicles that impress with their design as well as their technology and efficiency.
