Audi: This is the all-electric A6 🎥

PREVIOUSLY Tasted The A6 is only three years old, and now Audi is already bringing out a successor? The Audi A6 e-tron is to be offered from 2023. There will also be a rear-wheel drive variant.

The 4.96-meter fastback sedan, which is still shown without an interior, is to be offered from 2023. Before that, an SUV called the Q6 e-tron will be launched.

A6 e-tron
With two electric motors, the A6 e-tron Concept is expected to deliver a peak output of 350 kW (476 hp).

Light effects and independent front mask
The sharply drawn body of the concept car is completely unique and shares no sheet metal with the regular A6. In fact, the stylistic approach is more like the A7 Sportback. Futuristic lighting effects and an independent front mask provide additional differentiation.

The voluminous 100 kWh battery is said to be good for a range of over 700 kilometers - albeit according to the very optimistic WLTP cycle. The battery is so cleverly accommodated that the A6 e-tron Concept is significantly flatter than other electric cars, where manufacturers like to fall back on the aesthetics of an SUV without corresponding off-road properties.

Loading pauses are bridged with videos
Depending on the battery's state of charge and the availability of suitable charging stations, it should be possible to squeeze up to 300 WLTP kilometers into the battery in ten minutes. To make the more or less long charging times, which can extend into the night, more interesting, the A6 e-tron will be able to project video games onto walls to entertain the pausing occupants.

Pure rear-wheel drive variant in planning
With two electric motors, one each on the front and rear axles, the A6 e-tron Concept is said to offer a peak output of 350 kW (476 hp) and 800 Newton meters of maximum torque. There will also be variants with pure rear-wheel drive.

Even the weakest variants are expected to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than seven seconds - a value that, by the way, is currently also achieved by the lowest-performance gasoline-powered A6 45 TFSI, which nevertheless has a speed of 250 km/h. The A6 45 TFSI is also the fastest gasoline-powered model in the range.

Audi is currently silent about the top speed of the upcoming electric A6. Audi is also talking about a high-performance top model that sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in less than four seconds.
