Aston Martin: Long live the V12 legend
SPECIAL MODEL A new limited edition V12 Vantage celebrates the proud history of Aston Martin sports cars. Thanks to further optimized driving dynamics, the new model ensures perfect performance and great driving pleasure.
Unfortunately, the V12 engines are also coming to an end at the English sports car manufacturer Aston Martin. Now the English are presenting the last Vantage with a 5.2-liter biturbo V12. 753 Nm and 700 hp enable the fastest Vantage ever built to reach a top speed of 322 km/h and an acceleration time from 0 to 100 in 3.5 seconds.
Interested parties wait for acceptance of bid
This final variant of the Vantage V12 is limited to just 333 examples and brings an era to a stylish close. Demand was correspondingly overwhelming. Shortly after the V12 Vantage was announced last December, all examples found a buyer, so that now a long list of interested parties is eagerly awaiting the knockdown.
Tobias Moers, CEO Aston Martin: "A good sports car brand always needs a flagship. For Aston Martin, that has been the V12 Vantage in recent years. The idea of putting the biggest engine in the smallest and sportiest model has excited our customers and fans ever since the V12 Vantage RS Concept was first unveiled in 2007."
Important components made of carbon fiber
The heart of the 4.51-meter-long and 1795-kilogram Aston Martin is its engine. The 5.2-liter, 60-degree V12 with four camshafts delivers top performance across the entire rev range.
The weight-saving measures include the use of numerous components made of carbon fibers and composite materials. A new type of exhaust system not only gives the V12 Vantage a correspondingly loud sound, but is also 7.2 kilograms lighter thanks to lightweight stainless steel. Power is transmitted via an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
