The financially pressured brand of attractive sports cars does have a new investor, but the budget is to be invested in new combustion models - including the SUV DBX - for the time being.
Despite the £182 million investment by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll, the company is postponing the launch of the Lagonda Rapide E electric car from 2022 to 2025. In addition, Aston Martin will have to cut jobs and reduce costs.

V6 engine with hybrid capabilities
But the Valkyrie super sports car with a V12 engine is still to be launched this year. And other new models, vehicles with a mid-engine concept, and a new V6 engine with hybrid capabilities are in development. Lawrence Stroll is to become chairman of Aston Martin's controlling body, and Andy Palmer is to remain CEO.
