Aston Martin and Zagato have been working together for 60 years. Now, to mark Zagato's 100th birthday, the two companies are putting a very special pair of models on the road.
The recently unveiled DB4 GT Zagato Continuation - a reissue of the model from the early 1960s - is getting a no less attractive twin in the form of the modern DBS GT Zagato. This will come to selected customers towards the end of the year only as a pair together with the replica version in a very small edition of 19 pairs.
Together more than 1100 hp power
With the two Zagato brothers, considerable performance potential is also assembled. Whereas the newly wheeled DB4 stems 395 hp from its 4.7-liter inline six-cylinder engine, the modern DBS GT with a 5.2-liter biturbo V12 engine delivers 768 hp. This enables the car to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 340 km/h.
The technical basis for the DBS GT Zagato is the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. The two super sports cars are hand-built at the famous Newport Pagnell plant.
Price is 7.4 million francs
In typical Zagato fashion, the two anniversary models come with a double-bubble roof. Underneath, the manufacturers present an interior sumptuously equipped with the most expensive materials.
No wonder, the price is not modest either. The English put it at around six million pounds, or about 7.4 million Swiss francs.
