Alpine: Electric and open roof 🎥
PROTOTYP Alpine celebrated the 60th anniversary of the A110 with the world premiere of the all-electric A110 E-ternité at the French Formula 1 GP. The innovative prototype is intended to prepare the brand for the future.
The Alpine A110 E-ternité is a rolling laboratory with 100 percent electric drive and a roof that opens.
The A110 E-ternité is now arriving in time for the brand's 60th anniversary. It spans the arc from the prestigious past into the electric future.

Balance and the agility of the A110
The goal is clear: The next Alpine models are to be electrified, and the A110 will be the first.
The specifications were short. The task was to electrify the car while achieving the performance, balance and agility of the A110 with an internal combustion engine and utilizing the relevant strengths of the Renault Group.
Existing parts and technologies
As a Renault Group brand, it was obvious that existing parts and technologies would initially be used for the A110. The battery modules, for example, correspond to those of the Megane E-Tech Electric.
However, to achieve optimum weight distribution, special battery housings had to be developed and the interior architecture adapted. As a result, the A110 E-ternité's total weight of 1378 kilograms remains within bounds, with an increase of 258 kilograms compared with the gasoline-powered model.
Composite roof shells
To achieve optimum performance, the Group's standard engine was fitted with a new transmission. Alpine developed an electronically controlled dual-clutch transmission with larger clutches together with the transmission supplier.
In addition, there had long been a desire for an A110 with an open roof. The engineers solved the structural problem with two composite roof shells. The roof parts, injected with recycled carbon fibers, meet the requirements for lightness without compromising rigidity.
