Abarth: The scorpion stings again 🎥
MODEL SERIES 595 In its relaunch, the Abarth 595/695 series comes in two performance versions and with seven equipment packages. Naturally, however, the iconic Italian powerhouse remains true to its sport DNA.
Part of the program of the Abarth models is to transform the ordinary into the unusual. This is how the basic Fiat 500 model is repeatedly turned into new derivatives with pronounced sportiness and exquisite equipment. Just a few weeks before the brand's 73rd birthday, the scorpion now stings anew.
Elastic turbo engine
The entry-level Abarth 595 has a Garrett-turbocharged 1.4-liter gasoline engine with 165 hp, which should provide plenty of adrenaline. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 7.3 seconds, and from 80 to 120 km/h in 7.8 seconds. Abarth quotes 218 km/h as the maximum speed.
The sporty appearance is further emphasized by 16-inch wheels, a chrome dual exhaust, fog lights and mirror caps in body color. Inside, the steel pedals and the steering wheel, which is flattened at the bottom, are striking.
In terms of the chassis, the Koni rear suspension and the front and rear ventilated, large brake discs are part of the sports equipment. Even 250 Nm and 180 hp are delivered by the turbocharged engine of the Abarth 695 model, which allows the car to accelerate to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, and 225 km/h can be reached as the top speed.
Many equipment variants
A total of seven equipment packages are available for the 595 and 695. Depending on the customer's choice, they move more in the direction of comfort or pronounced sportiness. With the variable spoiler, for example, more downforce is achievable at high speeds, which increases driving stability.
The 17-inch alloy wheels bring a further optimized look. And the "F595" emblem confirms the proximity to Formula 4, for which Abarth supplies the engines.
