"We are integrating two completely new Q models into the existing production network, thereby increasing our competitiveness in an extremely important segment," says Audi Board Member for Production and Logistics Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl.
New in the upper class
With the Audi Q8, the brand is opening up a new segment for the luxury class. The premium SUV in coupe style combines ample space with "emotional design" and features the latest technologies in assistance and infotainment systems. Audi will produce the model in Bratislava from 2018. The Audi Q7 has been rolling off the production line at the Slovakian plant since 2005. The second generation of the large SUV is now produced there, as well as the S variant and the plug-in hybrid Q7 e-tron.
Compact model additionally
In 2019, the Audi Q4 will also be launched at Audi Hungaria in Győr. With it, the brand is entering the compact utility vehicle (CUV) segment. With its typical coupe-like silhouette, the particularly sporty Audi Q4 will find its place between the Audi Q3 and Q5. Audi Hungaria will also take over production of the Audi Q3 compact SUV from 2018, which will be manufactured in Martorell, Spain, until then.
