Through tactical and smart driving Randy Krummenacher secured fourth place and valuable points in the world championship.

The weekend began for Krummenacher with a promising second place in qualifying. The 26-year-old's goal was to defend this position on race Sunday as well. But after the start, Honda rider Patrick Jacobsen, who started from fourth place, took the lead. Kenan Sofuoglu, Jules Cluzel and Randy Krummenacher then formed a strong chasing group. The quartet battled for positions non-stop over the entire distance of 17 laps.

With one and a half laps to go, it came down to the exciting final sprint. Although Krummenacher was already riding at the limit, he managed to once again increase the pressure on the competitors ahead of him. However, this time it wasn't enough: Krummenacher missed the podium in fourth place. "I was at the limit and didn't want to take any additional risks. I couldn't go any faster," Krummenacher told speedweek.ch.

Instructive race
"The course of the race clearly revealed our weaknesses. The long straights were tough for us. I gave it my all, but it was never enough to get out of the slipstream. From that point of view it was indeed a very instructive race for me," said the Puccetti driver. Through tactical and clever riding, however, Krummenacher scored valuable points. As a result, he can further extend his World Championship lead and is currently ahead of Patrick Jacobsen by eleven points.
Krummenacher is confident that the team will be able to attack again at the race in Spain: "I am very confident that this lesson will make me all the stronger at the next round in Aragon. We know where to pull the lever and that's exactly what we'll do in the future."
