The track in the Obstberg district and on the edge of the old town measures around 2750 meters, has eight left-hand and six right-hand bends and is driven in a clockwise direction. According to the experts, the 22 drivers from eleven teams can expect one of the most demanding and fastest tracks ever. The top speed on the downhill Aargauerstalden leading to the Bärengraben will be around 225 km/h - in a legal way, Bern has certainly never been driven so fast.
Home game for Buemi and Mortara
The Swiss E-Prix is the last European race before the final double-header in New York in mid-July and also the conclusion of the Voestalpine European Races. For Sébastien Buemi from Aigle VD and Edoardo Mortara from Geneva, it is a home race. While Edo has already won once this season (in Hong Kong), Nissan e.dams scored more points than any other team in the last two races.
After his pole position and first podium of the season at the last race in Berlin (second), the Vaudois enters the home race with correspondingly high expectations. He describes these in the following interview, which was conducted before the race in Berlin.
10 hours of action
The race day starts on Saturday with the 1st free practice from 8.55 to 9.40 am. The second practice is from 11.20 to 11.50. Qualifying in four groups will take place from 13.30 to 14.06. From 2.15 to 2.35 p.m., Super Pole Qualifying will determine the best five grid positions.
The start of the race over 45 minutes plus one lap will be at 18:04. The podium is located directly above the traffic circle at the Bärengraben, where the three top finishers can be celebrated by the audience.
Free entrance to the track
Those who do not have a grandstand ticket can follow the race live on large screens in the Fan Zone (see Léageplan below) along the Aargauerstalden directly at the track and in the Allianz E-Village in the lower Old Town. Admission is free of charge.
There will be food stands in the Taste Zone at Klösterlistutz. Entertainment for the whole family is offered in the Family Zone in the Rosengarten. Those looking for a little more action can be surprised in the Stage Zone at Nydeggstalden. There, entertainment will be provided on the stage from 9 a.m. to 0:30 a.m.
TV live on different channels
Those who cannot or do not want to follow the racing action live in Bern will be well catered for by various TV channels. MySports will broadcast all the decisions from the first free practice session to the race on Saturday evening for a total of nine hours live on MySports One.
The coverage is enriched with information and entertainment, expert talks and countless impressions from, on and off the track.
